In May, five Russian satellites encircled a commercial imaging satellite. This week, one of them – Cosmos 2612 – is maneuvering to get even closer. It will make its closest pass within the next 24 hours. (Source: AdamCohen8 for the visualization) This is significant. Russia appears to be targeting a *commercial* satellite providing imaging services to Ukraine: starting approximately two weeks ago, Russia began maneuvering five of its classified satellites to the same orbital inclination as the ICEYE satellite.
