According to current orbital data, the Russian satellite KOSMOS 2612 is now within 1-2 km of ICEYE-X36. Based on current data, it may come within meters of the latter within a few hours. This is an unauthorized operation
In May, five Russian satellites encircled a commercial imaging satellite. This week, one of them – Cosmos 2612 – is maneuvering to get even closer. Russia appears to be targeting a *commercial* satellite providing imaging services to Ukraine: starting approximately two weeks ago, Russia began maneuvering five of its classified satellites to the same orbital inclination as the ICEYE satellite.
